Richard N. Pagnotta, Jr., Esq. is an Associate at Quatela Chimeri PLLC, where he concentrates his practice exclusively in the areas of matrimonial and family law. He is dedicated to guiding clients through some of life’s most challenging legal matters with compassion, diligence, and a strategic approach tailored to each client’s unique set of circumstances.

Mr. Pagnotta graduated from the Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University, where he developed a strong foundation in litigation and client advocacy. During his tenure at Hofstra, Mr. Pagnotta interned at a prominent bankruptcy firm, assisting individuals with Chapter 7 filings and supporting businesses navigating Chapter 11 reorganizations. He was also an active member of both the Dispute Resolution Society and Sports and Entertainment Society, honing his skills in negotiation, advocacy, and alternative dispute resolution. Additionally, Mr. Pagnotta received a NITA Certification due to his work counseling children thrust into matrimonial and family law disputes.

Since his admission to the Bar, Mr. Pagnotta has been involved in a wide variety of matrimonial actions and Family Court proceedings before the New York State Supreme and Family Courts. From his time at Quatela Chimeri and prior practice at another highly regarded matrimonial law firm, Mr. Pagnotta has considerable experience drafting motions on issues such as interim child support, spousal maintenance, and contempt, and effectively and strategically utilizing the discovery process. He routinely counsels clients on their rights and obligations relating to custody, support, and equitable distribution, working closely with them to navigate the complex and often emotional challenges of family law litigation.

Mr. Pagnotta was admitted to the New York State Bar in 2020 and the New Jersey State Bar in 2022. He is a member of the Suffolk County Bar Association, Suffolk County Matrimonial Bar Association, Nassau County Bar Association (and its Matrimonial Law Committee), and New York State Bar Association.
